My mistake, it wasn't the end of April it was the end of May. I remember us discussing the merits of Eternal 'The Only One' v Brightman and Bocelli 'Time to Say Goodbye' for #1 before she tapped me for money. Just checked the UK charts listings, so eleven months before your vomiting trauma.

Late May 1997, that was a good time for me, I had a week off for my birthday after six months in my first proper job. I got the Fast Show book as a present, and when I wasn't reading that, I was out in my parents' garden learning Perl on a Toshiba 486 laptop.

That sounds lovely. I remember it being a vibrant, warm, hopeful time as well. I think of it as the exact break point between the time before, and the modern world.

TBH, it was lucky I was in the qichin.

The bathroom would've been ultimately preferable, but anywhere else would've been a catastrophe.

I think that that's the first time I've involuntarily vommed since I was a teenager.

Since the last vomit data I gave, I've spewed up quite a few times, all related to migraines. Which is doubly a good thing, because (a) I feel better afterwards and (b) I always get them early in the morning when my stomach is empty, so there's nothing coming up except water.

And by 11am I was tucking into my cheese sandwiches in my storage unit.
