To me, Marilyn looked best casual, stripped from the need to appeal to powerful men who could make or/and break her. Apparently when she died radio and television stations were swamped with callers (females, gay men, and straight men without an agenda) saying 'if only we'd known she was that unhappy, we'd have sat with her, given her refuge, listened to her, done everything needed to get her through'. What a fine tribute.

The A list apex. Don't watch her funeral directors account unless you already have. Before he closed the lid after Joe DiMaggio had paid his respects, this 'professional' reached into the coffin and stole her false breasts and her fake eyelashes, and had a final feel between her legs. He didn't seem ashamed of having done so.

Ravaged by terminal cancer and still giving her deep love and compassion to children, which she wasn't given as a starved and traumatized displaced child of the 1940's.

There can't be a nicer way to wake up. My uncle had a slinky black male cat who would sit on my chest if I was sleeping facing the ceiling (and gently tap me to wake me) or warmly snuggle in if I was sleeping on my side or facing down. If he had been outside he would politely wipe his paws on the rug before jumping up to drape himself around me. We had breakfast together when I was in a dark depression and he'd come to the morning room windows to check on me while he was out surveying his world. He hid behind me when a neighbouring cat that bullied him would not go away, trusting me to protect him - which I did. He's the only animal I've ever let sleep in my bedroom. We loved and understood each other.

I do worry for valiant Gina, but I'm in awe of her bravery and undaunted commitment to truth and clarity. There are no words sufficient to thank her for her unfailing leadership over the last few years. Honourable mention also to Nicola Sturgeon for the same. Modern icons of integrity.
