Tom Boy or Tom Fool?

Can't remember if this one was on the LP.
This album is a couple of tracks too long.

This is a bonus track.
I've stopped listening.
I'm listening to "Harmour Love".

Re: La Roux - La Roux (2009)
It is over.
To be honest, the only thing I didn't like about it was her tendency to try and sing out of the top of her head. The tunes were all familiar enough to feel cosy and the arrangements were refreshingly simple.
Therefore, I shall give it 4 stars.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everyone else made of it.

That was alright.
The second album was less pop, kinda, and the third one sounded like all the songs rejected off that one for not being good enough.
I went for 4.

I went for two.
Generous.
It was, despite its archness and fluorescent pretensions, musically a beige smear with a seemingly, hopelessly limited singer singing more-or-less throughout like an annoying yet persistent draught through an old sash window.

Re: La Roux - La Roux (2009)
This is the last in the series of my revisiting albums you did a while ago, that I also own. I think this is the "newest" album I own, in terms of a "new" artist, and probably the last CD I bought that was actually in the charts at the time.
It's okay, an upbeat and chirpy little album, though a bit samey and flat at the same time, with blatant hints of early 80s electronic synthy stuff like the Human League, though much more polished, less original and not as interesting. But still quirky enough to keep one interested. Best of the rest fodder, but a keeper.
3.5/5
