This is a band that did everything more-or-less right but obviously fell between the cracks of musical and cultural history.

It is over.

I felt that was a middling album whose main flaw was obvious; that Juanita Stein needs a group with better musicians in it. Their playing lacked imagination and versatility and found them repeatedly blanding out her songs beneath her as she battled to bring them to life. She's a great vocalist and tunesmith and they're not a great band.

Now to look back at the thread and see what everyone else made of it. Excited

I shall give it 3 stars because there are some good songs buried beneath the playing.

I've never heard anything by Waikiki. I'm having visions of them sounding like Crowded House. I base this on no evidence at all, other than them being Australian and siblings and being called Waikiki.
