It is over.
That was a very pleasant album with a nice feel to it but it struggled to hold my attention, as most of the songs weren't really that interesting. I did see it as something you'd have on as background music, rather than a thing you'd actually immerse yourself in. It did, though, have a Mellotron on it and that impressed me.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everyone else made of it.

Well, I've never quite heard anything like it. That mixture of American and Jamaican styles.
I didn't like to be honest, I prefer my Reggae sounding like King Tubby Meets the Upsetter at the Grassroots of Dub, and if it doesn't sound like that I get confused, It was certainly good, and I can understand why it would have it's fans, and I liked Tune Tough. But I guess I have no Soul I also will give it 3/5.

Well, that was and is an exemplary album.
People always go on about the album after Funky Kingston, but I feel ITD is neglected.
And it's better.
Obviously it's a reggae album by a reggae band, but I hope that you agree with me that Toots and the Maytals are a quite different band from that genre's norm.
They were always more eclectic, upbeat, melodic and genuinely happy-sounding a band than their peers.
They managed to carry the vivacity of the early years of Jamaican music through the dark times and into the future with a deft and light touch.
This has to be a full house score for me.

I have to say that I'm slightly disappointed by the overall score, because I think it's a genuinely lovely, upbeat and positive album by a genuinely lovely, upbeat and positive band.
