Isn't She Pretty in Pink? That's a bit sexist isn't it?

And what sounds like the start of the song again. I'd forgotten about that bit.

She Is Mine. The surprise discovery of this album for me. Wonderfully melancholy.
I actually chose this rather than PIP to go on my 1987-88 compilation tape.

Back to inadvertently sounding like early-'80s Roxy Music.

This is taking me all the way back to 1987-1988 when I was quite different and had quite different expectations for my future.

Well, thank you all for listening along to another of my faves.
Especially since I nearly forgot to turn up.

That was OK but I didn't like it as much as their other albums we've done. I felt there was a lack of variety of sound, instrumentation and styles on the album.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

Hmm.
Well, aside from Macca/Beatles, TPFs have had quite a near-the-front-stage stage position.
And ain't it show.
Rubbin' shoulders with their highers and betters.
Really, I'm not sure that it's done them all that many favours, as - beyond what you might call the occasional high-cocalorum classics and the all round playing (and to a more problematic extent, RB's completely self-assured, albeit stylistically - wilfully so - limited singing style) I don't feel like the albums did stack up all so well - personally speaking of course, your lordship.
That is to say that I when I happened to when listened to their albums (again) in such relatively short succession of time and period..
I seem to recall that even as a 14/15 year old their albums failed to hold my attention beyond the first few strident, wryly sardonic, lyrically memorable 'marquee' tracks and it seems that not a huge amount has changed, if I may be so bold - nay impudent - to say, your worship.
Still, it weren't not bad, in a manner of speaking, your Lordship, and I wouldn't of ever not intended to offend, your worship - but y'know, a man in my position's got to 'old is own and just say it out plain and clear like.
It just wasn't exactly one of my favourite cups of tea.
Not that I'm normally a tea man, your Lordship...
etc

I may have been reading Patrick Hamilton too much recently.

I listened to this again after you'd all gone, because the police helicopter was making a noise. I still think it's good.
