Great instrumental intro.

Sounds a bit like the theme tune to Sorry.

This is moderately better than the previous songs on the album.

I don't like this one. It sounds like a Richard Thompson B side.

This post is very very funny.
But you are demented.
So the two cancel each other out.
No like for you.

It is over.
Total cobblers really. Albums like this just make me angry that the people involved insist on inflicting stuff like this on human beings. It makes me feel the same fury that I do when I see Morris Dancers. The whole thing just screams contempt for the audience.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

It's a really good album IMO.
Many would argue that Full House (the previous album and last with Ricky-T) is much better and I'm not sure I'd disagree, but I chose this because of the breezy brevity of the songs and the fact that the truly loveable and Brummily charming Dave Swarbrick's vocal prevalence.
FC's personnel changes over the years meant that they changed their musical style album by album.
e.g. I'm still considering doing 9 with the Canadian Telecaster wizard Jerry Donahue on it.
That gets almost funky at times.

Well, that was unexpected.
I was expecting something that sounded like:
Instead I got something that was a lot more trad.

It was good, but I'll be honest here, I prefer what Steeleye Span* did to bringing Folk to the plebs. folk, and The Trees. If you remember them.
Still it was good to see them moving forward.
* I mean it's gimmicky, but it works:

I think that you're fundamentally wrong and I'm genuinely shocked at your response.
In fact, I'm more than slightly perplexed by your response.
It doesn't seem right you hating something so vociferously like that.
English folk music - it's an actual thing.
It existed and it exists because some people dig it.
Even Morris Dancing.
What's wrong with that?
Sure it looks silly and severely uncool old men do it out the front of a few pubs somewhere in Somerset somtimes, but it's an indelible part of old English culture.
I don't enjoy it personally, but it's a part of a Pagan tradition that squares up to the Rihannas and Olivia Newton-Johns of this world in an unflattering way.
Seriously Wend', why do you hate it so much?

I don't have any problem with Folk music, provided it's done with sincerity and actual feeling. It's just people like this that I have a problem with. There's not an ounce of sincerity in it. It's all just one big mountain of falseness, artifice and affectation. If I was in a room with them, I'd literally want to kill them with a wooden chair to make them stop.

How do you know who they are, what they're like and what their intentions are?
Do you think that they're all a bunch of sinister fakers who've entered into a demonic pact to inflict fiddly-diddly 'folk' on a relatively small group of fans?
Who like to torment everyone with a kind of folk-rock/the soundtrack to The Omen torture on a few other people who happen to have not gone out of their way to make anyone listen to it?
Where you get the idea that any of it's insincere is anyone's guess...
If you didn't like it then say so - give it a swingeingly harsh and subjective score - and be done.
