The Call of the Wendigo wrote:Back to Kate Bush.
Bush would've been about 13 when they wrote this stuff.

This has better not be more than 3 lines long.

The guy is a pretty horrible vocal annoyance.

It is over.
That was total cobblers from start to finish. For the first half, it was interesting because you didn't know what was coming next but, by the second half, it had grown quite tedious, and the bloke from Aqua joining in with the singing didn't help.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

Oh yeah, what I heard was like one of those Top of the Pops album cover versions of very minor chart hits everyone's forgotten because they were rubbish in the first place.
The difference is the musicians on those Top of the Pops LP didn't think they were 'Special'.
Wonder what the Faust versions were like?

Well, I know yous all will hate and dismiss it, but I still find it hard to hate.
I'm a fan of Dagmar Krause in her own right anyway.
Everything considered though, it's not great.
As an album it really digs its own grave during side 1, before picking up quite strongly/pleasantly on side 2, before really being very annoying with Haiku and then ending gently and sweetly at the very end.
Ultimately, as with a lot of stuff we've reviewed (especially stuff I've nominated) it all seems the worser cos it's out of context re: the English/German art rock scene of the '70s.
That said, I'm not all that sure Henry Cow or the Art Bears would've been met with much more enthusiasm.
