They pack a great deal of power and energy into relatively small windows of time.

Re: Slade - Slayed? (1972).
It is over.
The first couple of tracks were nothing special but, after that, it was solid gold all the way. Let's face it, that's the album that everyone tries to pretend Never Mind the Ballcocks was.![box](/users/3715/63/33/29/smiles/2226079238.gif)
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.![Excited](/users/3715/63/33/29/smiles/4075307247.gif)

Re: Slade - Slayed? (1972).
I couldn't ever say Slade were my favourite band in the pantheon of rock, but on this listen a few things are fundamentally clear:
1) They're a really technically gifted and flamboyant group of musicians.
2) Their influence on punk must've been underestimated.
3) Noddy is, apart from being a lovely, self-deprecating man, an absolute force of nature vocally.
Regarding the last point, it really can't be overstated how extraordinary his voice is.
Relentless, rasping, primal, unstoppable!
Surely one of the 20-or-so greatest singers of all time - across all genres!

I shall withhold the final voting score as I feel that ButtonZ-maphone is likely to run his beady budgie-like eye over this at some point. ![yes](/users/3715/63/33/29/smiles/959869116.gif)

I'm sensing that this album is going to amass a hefty overall score.

The Whole World's Goin' Crazee
This is one is a little more hooky, less braindead rock. Not sure if that's a good thing or not.
