White
isn't really just a singer with a big budget behind him.
He's a band leader in the old(er) school mould like Duke Ellington, Basie or Goodman...
The whole operation is directed by him - orchestra, backing singers, production and arrangements.
His music can't be appreciated properly if you just see him as a singer.
He's a mastermind.
It's strongly arguable that he invented Disco.
It's undeniable that he's awesome.
