Just the right side of the Jazz line for me. Just.

Maurice is certainly pushing himself vocally.

It is over.
It was generally silly and uninvolving to equal degrees.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

What a terrific album.
I'm beginning to come around to Robert Christgau verbose verbiage garbiage concerning what they reached for and achieved with this album.
It does indeed have some elements that - IF YOU'RE NOT A FAN OF THE GENRE IN GENERAL - might be a bit 'challenging' or, er... dull, but, for me, it's an epic, resounding triumph.

I know.
It sounds like they were having right old larf and all-round impromptu knees up on a street corner in Lagos.

Not sure, very odd, album, which is a good thing, I like bits of it, but I'm still ambiviant on 70s Soul, although it was better than the average and I liked the Afrobeat stuff.
Err.. ★★★, or maybe ★★★★,

Prog soul
Poul. Srog?
Prole.
Apparently Frumpy are a genuine Prole group.
That's the last time I'll go to Progachieves and see what they have to say about Soul.

I went ★★★ in the end, as I can't see myself ever wanting to listen to this again.
