Ours constantly veers between the banal and the appalling. It's 'pothole not serious enough to fix', 'woman raped in alleyway', 'traders up in arms about rubbish bags', 'woman dies tragically at holiday park'.

Re: Is your local news rubbish?
I'm not sure where exactly to source my local news now.
I'm kind of in a Nowheremansland between St. Johns Wood, Paddington, Kilburn, Belsize Park, South Hampstead and Swiss Cottage.
It's just about as far North Westminster as you can get, where the Borough joins with Camden and Brent.
Ergo, I imagine that my local news will be like Countess Fangula's but with a ratio instead of about 1/5 banal/appalling respectively. [s][/s]

Re: Is your local news rubbish?
In fact, I've just checked the Borough boundaries.
My side of the road is Westminster and the other side is Camden.

'Stop having sex with my hedge': Sheffield man's desperate plea.
Keith Tyssen has been carefully trimming the hedge outside his home into the shape of a tastefully nude lady since 2005.
However the 84-year-old says he has been continually awakened in the early hours by "lowlifes" trying to straddle his bush which he had named Gloria.
"It's offensive and appalling and is damaging her figure - privets don't respond well to being manipulated like that.
"It's changing the shape of her legs and thighs and is annoying because I spend a lot of time trying to keep her in good order."
Mr Tysen said he has to make regular repairs to the hedge and is now considering putting up a sign to address the issue.

This is the street I live on (although most of the incidents occurred half a mile further up the road at West Hampstead)...
https://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/street-in-west-hampstead-is-hit-by-20-smash-and-grab-attacks-in-just-six-weeks-a3892221.html
I just got my cashmere cardigan and D&G trousers dry cleaned done at Perfect Dry Cleaners.
And I met Hemen Osman during the process, which means I'm famous now.

It's the most exciting American/NHOTW local news crossover since Uber took on Sheffield council and lost
