It was called angel House.

Oh, such happy memories.

Knocked down for luxury flats now. sad yes

Yeah, was grim. I saw that and they're horrible. Considering how many people must've been treated like refuse there, the site should've been properly used to safely and securely socially house people. Great for people, and karma restored. As for the flats at the cinema further along. I thought that should've become a cinema specializing in Latin American and Iberian releases.

Two great sites completely wasted, and now blighted by vulgarity.

Fancunians?

I did know of Z's presence on my manor. Or vice versa.

Never mind local, national can be even more rubbish. As Covid-19 raced across the planet, we were being treated to ministerial interventions and nightly updates on the saga of the Big Ben bongs - itself a continuation of an interminable nationwide ding dong.

Perhaps our resident Essexonians can confirm or otherwise.

I wonder if the proprietors of those gracious hotels were told their establishments would be in an article called 'the best hotels for s*x'.

Wivenhoe House, Wivenhoe

I've had a meal (but no s*x) in the brasserie there. It was quite nice, a bit noisy though

Westcliff Hotel, Southend

When I go to Southend I often fantasise about staying there - waking up in the morning and wandering down to the beach before breakfast (not s*x)

My favourite hotel is the Swan at Lavenham. For lunching anyway, I don't know what the accommodation/s*x facilities are like. Oh, that's in Suffolk anyway.

https://www.echo-news.co.uk/news/18637849.multiple-casualties-reported-three-hours-sees-huge-southend-seafront-rescue-operation/

A HUGE rescue operation was launched on Southend seafront following reports of "multiple casualties across three separate locations".

The spree of incidents culminated in a "multi-agency response" which saw multiple emergency services free two people trapped in the mud in pitch black conditions.

scared

The night started at the Sealife centre in Eastern Esplanade, Southend, after reports that a person had entered the water.

The Coastguard arrived first to find there was no casualty in the water.

Colbert

After the arrival of Essex Police and ambulance crews, the Coastguard team were called to reports of a large group of girls in distress on the beach opposite the Roslin Beach Hotel.

They arrived but were unable to find any sign of large group of girls on the beach.

The Coastguard said they finished searching for the girls, which they believed did not exist or had moved on before they arrived

Colbert Colbert

, but were soon called back in to action.

Excited

Three off duty ambulance workers reported hearing shouts from the mud and people in distress.

scared

However, no casualties were spotted

Colbert

Further reports then came in of two casualties stuck in mud back towards the Roslin locale, the helicopter spotted them on their thermal imaging and Southend Coastguard then went to scene to deal with that incident and perform a welfare check on the casualties but they had by then made it to shore and left the scene

Colbert

'Apart from that, it's been a quiet night. Over.'
