Dr. John or Dr. Harold Shipman?
Re: Dr. John - Desitively Bonnaroo (1974)
Gospel stylings.
Interesting, pleasing key changes.

It is over.
It's not really my kind of thing but it was pleasant enough. I felt it was quite a safe album.
Now to look at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

I couldn't comment much because the pages were talking forever to load.

A more-or-less flawless album.
It's groovy, funky, authentic Southern funk sound is as whole appealing as it's economic brevity is admirable in its restraint.
Many other albums of the soul/funk genre would've dragged a relatively this number out, but every track here was short and oh so sweet.
I love it.
It can't be given anything less that ★★★★★-cubed from me.

Oh, you're in favour wild experimentation now?

Sorry, I kinda passed out last night, no reflection on the album, I'll try and do it again soon!

Of course I was too busy listening to Bloomin' Christmas Songs to do it today. Or to listen to that Alina Kalancea album I mentioned in the Continental music thread.
