Inspired by the kind of song I moved to Radio 2 for. Over the last couple of years, the sort of thing I fled from Radio 1 to avoid has begun to take over Radio 2. I expect I'll have to turn to Capital Gold or something.
Huge hits that's used to be heard everywhere, and deserve more frequent outings, which are now very rarely played for pure enjoyment*. One of my all time favourite happy hits...
*No to Gary Glitter etc.

I too moved from Radio 1 to Radio 2 years ago, but stopped listening to Radio 2 completely about a year ago. Its DJs had become quite annoying and the type of music they played had changed. I've since heard a rumour that whoever is in charge of Radio 2 wanted to get rid of a lot of the "boomers" and related music and replace it with M*llennial people and stuff. That's me never going back then!
I've started occasionally listening to Absolute 70s/80s/90s which play some of the old hits but also some occasionally more obscure or forgotten hits.
