Reddit does behave very oddly with logging in. Often it flashes up the red 'incorrect password' message, then underneath it a green one appears saying it's logging me in. Which it then does.

I heart Reddit though, I spend at least 2 hours there every drink night.

Isn’t Reddit a free for all, where mad people talk of being red pilled etc? You follow a link and end up god knows where - I clicked on one about an actor for a bit of gossip and ended up in an entire subsection devoted to anorexia and bulimia worship. It seems like a pretty terrifying place.

It's all a matter of what subs you hang out in. I myself frequent a number of subs dedicated to monitoring and opposing the red-pill/QAnon/MAGA crowd.

Yes, just stick to subreddits that cater for/to your tastes and interests, avoiding like the plague anything contentious and 'controversial' and you'll be OK.

Personally, I generally eschew interaction and only post if I really want to, or in some cases need to (out of civility within the framework of a particular sub).

Ultimately, I browse reddit for content rather than to chat.

If I want someone's opinion on something, or feel I need elucidation on a matter or statement, then I'll ask for it.

Maybe an echo chamber one would be similar.

The only thing I dislike about reddit is people editing their posts to complain about being downthumbed. I always downthumb them if they do that, even if I agreed with their original point.

I’ve looked at it, and it’s better than I thought. There was an enjoyable thread about the horror of Megabus travel, which I agree with. The thread starter was three hours into a Glasgow to London trip. The last long bus trip I put myself through was Chefchaouen to Fes, and I was in agony. First it was delayed while everyone was searched for drugs, two of them were taken away, and in the final few hours I began to wonder how much helicopter hire would set me back. Had it been in the days of smartphone access, I might well have found out, and booked one to come and rescue me. He has my sympathy.

I may revise my negative opinion.

A helicopter home would have been lovely tonight, that last train out of Liverpool st takes an eternity to get back.

I had a dream once that I was trying to get across London to Liverpool St, After Hours style, so I could get back to Zarnichester.

It took me so long to do that I ended up having to run home along the railway tracks. Which I successfully did.
