Re: The Weather Thread Part 4.
Feels noticeably warmer this morning than it did yesterday morning.
And, unlike yesterday morning, the sun is out.

36 degrees predicted for today.
They've upped tomorrow's prediction to 39 degrees.
But, then, dropping, overnight, to just 18 degrees.
A 21 degree drop, in the space of just a few hours.

Rather too humid.
I sent the slave out to get strawberries, ice lollies, toilet rolls etc. He's come back with these candy scented rolls that promise to 'Electrify!' - a promise made in purple calligraphy across the front of the cellophane.

Re: The Weather Thread Part 4.
Currently, 34 degrees here.
Feels quite warm but, so far, not uncomfortably so.
I've put a couple of bottles of water in the freezer, so that, if it gets uncomfortable, I can place them behind my Poundland fans, to act as a makeshift air conditioning unit.

I've also got two USB cooling fans going at it beneath my laptop.

I couldn't be bothered to put tin foil over my windows. Will I have cause to regret it?

34 C (93 F).
I went out into the garden to get my washing in, and even stepping into the shade outside the back door was like walking into an oven.

I'm now using my home-made air conditioners. The Call of the Wendigo wrote:I've put a couple of bottles of water in the freezer, so that, if it gets uncomfortable, I can place them behind my Poundland fans, to act as a makeshift air conditioning unit.
It's working a treat, so far.

My radio is now telling me it's 28°C in here.
It just doesn't look right with a space between the number and the units.

My XHdata D-808 can.
I don't know how accurate it is, but it's fine for comparison. I guess.

The alarm clock that took me through my teens used to do that. It cost a small number of escudos, and in addition to displaying the temperature on the front in a 00.0c formation (outside temp in bold, with inside temp in brackets below), when you banged the top it would announce the temperatures plus the time and date (in Portuguese). It was a great clock. Someone stole it from me when I was at university - I went to set it one night and it was gone. I miss it.
Anyway, I think it's settled into a beautiful evening. I'd be happy with this for about ten months of the year, followed by five to six weeks of autumnal crispness, and two of three weeks of pretty snow, before returning to this.
