Shades of early Bee Gees.

Again, this is getting a bit like a Smile off-cut.

Beatlesy acoustic bit.

It does seem to be aiming to be like The Beach Boys with The Beatles as the backing band.

'Amusing' coda.

Re: Brian Protheroe – Pinball (1974).
It is over.
That was an off album that didn't seem to quite know what it wanted to be. There were some good tracks, here and there but, overall, it felt a little pointless.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

What a curious album.
I have to admit to having never heard of him before and I also don't recall his 'hit' whatsoever.
Still, it was an interesting listen, albeit clearly the work of a solo artist perhaps imbued with an 'excess' of talent and ambition meaning the overly complex, technical nature of the song's structures (not to mention the slightly passé psychedelic lyrics) weren't reigned and focussed to their best effect by other band members or a strong producer.
Nit picking on my part probably.
Ultimately, it's not every day you get to hear an album that you have almost no expectations of and then get to immerse yourself in it.
