Title makes me think it's going to sound like Russ Abbott. The Call of the Wendigo wrote:Last track - Rock and Roll Party.

Re: Kiss - Destroyer (1976)
It is over.
That was a very uninspired album in every department that, at least, had the decency to be short.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

That was awful. I liked it more than I was expecting to.

It's been said before, but we had The Sweet, Slade, Marc Bolan, Queen, G*ry Gl*tter, Elton John, Sparks, David Bowie, and a whole shed load more of Glam Rockers and glam adjacent, the poor Americans only had Kiss.
And Alice Cooper.
And Alice Cooper.

Re: Kiss - Destroyer (1976)
But neither really had that much success here.
Obviously Alice Cooper had a massive hit with "School's Out" (partially thanks to Mary "Power-Electronics" Whitehouse), but, to me at least, both groups were more famous for their image than their music.
Neither group seemed to embody Detroit properly either.
Not like MC5 or The Stooges.
AC was more authentic, but always seemed a bit late to the party.
MC5 and The Stooges lived right in the middle of the scorched black ghettos of downtown Detroit and none of the black residents gave them any hassle.
To them they were just a bunch of crazy white kids who deserved respect for having massive cojones and generally not giving a cr*d about anything.

Oh, the album...
That was awful.
The stuff about Ezrin and the recordings was pretty telling.
It was obvious after a while that he was struggling to hold the whole crappy affair together.
Still, that doesn't excuse the miserable quality of the actual songs.

Early Alice Cooper's pretty good, well, not the realiy early stuff, that's just poor Zappa. But the Billion Dollar Babies era and all that.
