I was falsely suspected of shoplifting today... because the theft scanner raised a false alarm, on the one occasion that I didn't take my receipt from the robo-checkout, because the wrist strap on my coat had got caught in the zip on my bag, and I was distracted trying to free it.

It's lucky I'm not given to panicking, and that the security guard and I found the receipt in the bin in the robo-checkout area. Otherwise I might not be here posting this to you.

So there are two morals to this story:

1. Don't Panic
2. Don't think that two independent random events can't co-occur, cos they can.

In other news, I've been given a payslip, but the money isn't in my bank account yet.

That's the first time that's ever happened.

I wasn't expecting the money till tomorrow anyway, but still, it doesn't feel right.

I am so so so so so so so tired.

Every day for the last ten days I've had to get up at 6-8am and get the 316 to Kilburn High Road and then wheel my laden suitcase up and down windy, hilly streets and then lie on a lilo in my empty front room waiting for things that say they'll be delivered between 7am and 10pm that I can't live properly without.

So, from about 8am every morning, I have nothing else to do but read, in an uncurtained room, blasted remorselessly by morning sunlight, my Margaret Atwood book about a young girl being unrelentingly bullied psychologically by her classmates until my morning cup of tea wears off and I try to sleep, only to be woken up by the terrifyingly shrill door-buzzer when a surly bloke delivers a kettle.
