I was just having a look at Windsor and Windsor Castle on Google Street View, then on the map noticed Eton just over the river. I thought I'd have a look there, expecting it would be right posh and fancy like. First place I landed:

It won't let me see, but I can imagine. I've never seen the appeal of Windsor - a grubby garrison town with added tourist tat, populated by people who can't afford to live in Buckinghamshire or Ascot - but desperately want to. The stench of sewage and jet fuel completes the picture. Unbelievably noisy, and not even pretty. Damp.

I was unsurprised that Frogmore proved unappealing to a Southern Californian. A mouldering old pile of bricks, with not one but two family mausoleums within spitting distance, filled with gothic coffins on shelves, and a garden jiving with frogs. I can't think of anything that would even make me spend a night there. Dank.

Never mind 'Broadwater Farm', Windsor is one scary estate...









Not enough money in the world to make Windsor attractive. It's a creepy place for creepy people. Anyone who buys a house on a floodplain is insane anyway. Think of Christine Keeler, growing up in an abandoned railway carriage, being abused - with nobody to notice or care. That's Windsor and its environs to me. Grim.

The G is different - the masthead has hard edges and a proper 'arrowhead' like in the old Giro logo, whereas the vape place only has the upper line. Also the masthead G makes a 360 degree arc, but the sign only goes round 315 degrees.

What a rather grim street, in all directions.

Handy if you need a mobile phone accessory though.

It comes to something when a vape shop is the nicest premises in the street.

It's an industrial estate, it's not supposed to be pretty.

Though Cashmere Systems Ltd Wholesale should spend an afternoon tidying up one day.
