How do you pronounce lilac?

It's unquestionably the most dynamic and stimulating colour ever invented, but, like turkwoyze, there are a basically two myriad ways of pronouncing it.
Some reveal whether you are normal, some whether you are posh and some whether you are maniac who should be gunned down like a mad dog.

I pronounce it, "Lie-luhk," like God intended.
I have noticed that Americans pronounce it, "Lie-Lock."

The fact that anybody pronounces it differently only made itself known to me when the Goggleboxers from Hull were talking about 'Lie Lack'.

This is what I have been saying.
Some people actually say "lie-lack".
And they're posh too.
It boggles the mind.

I have always known how to pronounce lilac properly, because as a small child my grandparents used to take me to a private (presumably highly subsidized ) restaurant reserved for civil servants (or retired ones), because I enjoyed the rice pudding.
The ladies loos there were of lilac porcelain, something quite rare and rather lovely. The lock on the cubicle I was in once jammed, and my grandmother had to climb over the top to rescue me. So the mispronunciation of lilac has never been an issue here.

Does anyone actually remember when they tried to market this is the UK in the early '90s without changing the German name?
I do, because my then-gf (Smurf Song, Baccara, Nana Mouskouri etc) 's uncle was a big wheel in the Milka global mega-corporation (probably responsible indirectly for countless deaths of African babies*) told me all about how they were going to see whether it would work.
*Owned by Kraft, not Nestles apparently.

*"Lila Pause" translates from German as Purple Break (lilac pause) BTW.
However, the (relatively) jaunty German phonetic annunciation of "leela pows-uh" was realised in English simply as "Lie-la Paws".
