I wonder if this winter I'll get a cold. I've been waiting for one now for nine years. I can date it precisely, because I'd had a chemical peel shortly before my 31st birthday, which made nose blowing especially uncomfortable. I felt very sorry for myself, and looked like I'd been scrubbed with a metal scouring pad. Haven't had another cold since.

I've got a cough and sore throat, and I don't feel very well. Yet I've got to drive to the storage place today and look at some units they've promised me cheap prices for.

I saw my units, but I felt pretty rough. I was hungry when I got back, but I didn't want anything fatty, so I bought scoffed a pack of chargrilled chicken.

I feel cold and achy now, I wouldn't be surprised if I was in for a feverish night of the flu.

Ooh, last night I felt iller than I ever have in my life. For the first 6 hours I had the shivers and chills, and then I was raging hot, I half thought of texting my parents to say where my will was.

I had to croakily phone reception and explain, and the nice lady said if I booked another week in the hotel online, I'd be able to stay in the same room.

So that's what I did.

My fever has gone down now but I still feel pretty ill. Thank goodness I got that flu jab, i hate to think what it would have been like without that.

I hope the woman I spoke to on the phone knew what she was talking about, cos otherwise they'll be coming to extract me in 74 minutes.

Falling ill the night before checkout is always a pain. That’s how I ended up spending six days in Algeciras rather than one night. As I was just passing through on the way to somewhere nicer, I was in a bargain basement dockside place barely worthy of the word hotel. There was a very busy and extremely aromatic kebab shop right underneath the room.
