J.R. Harley struggling to hit the high notes.
Or any kind of note at all.

Guiro.
I'm not hearing it.
It was in the chorusy thing. I heard scraping.
Isn't a guiro the drum with a stick through it that makes a jaunty, squeaky 'vigourously wiping a shammy on a window' sound?
We have this conversation every time. That might be a vibraslap.
THIS is a guiro. One scrapes it.

It is over.
I felt it was all too busy and hither and thither to properly cohere.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

I quite enjoyed that in the end. Bits were generic, his voice a little annoying, but the music was pleasant or quirky enough to keep one interested this once, with some nice acoustic guitar soundz.

S'alright. Was very mid 70s though, or at least post Ziggy Sawdust Stardust.

I can't bring myself to say it.
I'm thinking of a cuíca.
I always get the two mixed up.

What would my ex-wife say to me?
Other than "I don't know what you're talking about".

Anyway, it was an overworked and indulgent gallimaufry of a thing.
Good musicianship and flashing moments of inspiration, but, despite being (probably) instigated and originated and developed by Liz "That Dress" Harley, the songs in themselves were also spoilt by his overbearing 'persona'.
A persona that ultimately seems to be a cross between Bryan Ferret's 'jaded sophisticat' and Rodney from Only Fools and Horses.
