It wasn't so long ago it was that against Mariah Carey for which was the most popular Christmas song in the charts. It does seem the newer generation have fallen out of love with it, due to its "problematic" lyrics.

And that means Lovin on Me by Jack Harlow is still Number One on the UK singles chart.

As far as I can make out, there are currently 30 Christmas songs in the Top 100.

with the highest being Last Christmas by Wham! which is at Number Five.

Mariah is at Six.

However, Taylor Swift's Cruel Summer is still in the Top Ten.

Cliff is not in the Top 100.

Nor is Greg Lake.

Nor are the Waitresses.

Is Father Christmas going to forget to visit them, this year?

Now for the album chart.

Queen of Rock 'n' Roll by Tina Turner is in at 16.

And that means This Life by Take That is straight in at Number One on this week's UK album chart.

This is on my Christmas list post-Christmas sales list. It's a 3-CD compilation of all her solo singles in radio edit form, but as I have the vast amount of them somewhere already I don't want to pay full price for it.

Though it does include some rare-on-CD late 70s solo stuff such as from her brief disco era, including tracks from the Love Explosion album which we've done on here and I don't have anywhere!

Wonder if there was any increase in chart activity this week, what with the news.
