There's something endearingly amateurish about her vocals.
OOh, those keyboard stabs, 'oorible.

Track 10, Never Let Me Down Again.

Sounds like they've kind of given up hope by now.

This one has very tedious drumming on it.

I think they're might have been some ok songs in there, very much in the 1979-1983 sort of thing, but wrecked by terrible 1987 production and sounds.
And they seemed to have given up towards the end. That last one they just seemed to have just couldn't be bothered to finish the mix.

I felt that was a very frustrating album, as it was crying out to be either a dance album in the vein of early Madonna, or to be done like a cross between Transvision Vamp and the Ronettes. Instead, it fell between those two stools and therefore lacked, enthusiasm, conviction and cohesion.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everyone else made of it.

Maybe her second album that she had more control over would be better?

This appears to be her big hit from that album. It's had 3,616 views and was in a movie.

Re: The album running-commentary and general listening discussion thread.
This is it. I'm about to listen to Pilot's 3rd album Two's a Crowd which came out in 1977.
Famously, Wings didn't release a studio album in 1977. Therefore, bereft Wings fans had a Wings-like album to rush out and buy in huge quantities instead.
Despite that, this album didn't chart.
I'm assuming, from the title, that the band was down to two members at this point, much as Wings would be down to just three members for their next album.
I wonder if they're the same two member who played on Kate Bush's first two albums?
And will we hear any of that Kate Bush magic on this album?

Track 1. Get Up and Go.
Same title as a Rutles song.
Opens very much like Magic.
