Re: What's that on your cooker?
I've just tried it again, using salt and water as a substitute for the egg, this time.
But I left it in the microwave for too long and it's come out rock solid.![bawl](/users/3715/63/33/29/smiles/540545940.gif)

I've done something which I have been warned never to do.
I've made my weekly loaf of bread with beer yeast instead of bread yeast.
It's baking now.

It has completed baking.
It certainly looks like ordinary bread.

It tastes interesting, it has a sour, savoury edge to it which is a nice change.

Re: What's that on your cooker?
I have just made my first-ever batch of home-made microwave crisps.
And it worked.

And I didn't even need to soak the crisps in cold water or use cooking oil. I just sliced the potato then put the slices in the oven, spread out on a plate. ![box](/users/3715/63/33/29/smiles/2226079238.gif)

When they were done, I sprinkled salt and Henderson's Relish on them.

They did stick to the plate but I managed to prise them free.

If you rinse them off after slicing them, that's less likely to happen.

I was watching a video reviewing one of those, earlier. ![yes](/users/3715/63/33/29/smiles/959869116.gif)

Re: What's that on your cooker?
I've bought some Galaxy instant chocolate powder. I'm going to add it to my weird microwave bread, to see if it turns into a chocolate cake.

Re: What's that on your cooker?
I shall try it tomorrow morning and report upon how it goes.

Re: What's that on your cooker?
I have now done it.
I made two, one using milk and one using water.
Both of them came out edible but neither of them tasted very chocolatey.
The one made with milk tasted slightly better.
Tomorrow, I shall make another one with milk but use twice as much chocolate powder.

Re: What's that on your cooker?
I have now tried using twice as much chocolate powder. It worked a lot better.
However, the powder clearly had a lot of sugar in it. Next time, I'll use proper cocoa powder, instead.
If Heron sells it.![scared](/users/3715/63/33/29/smiles/3218000624.gif)

Re: What's that on your cooker?
I have repeated yesterday's chocolate cake recipe and put the product of it into the fridge, to see what it tastes like cold, rather than warm.

Re: What's that on your cooker?
Don't forget that proper cocoa powder isn't sweetened. ![llama](/users/3715/63/33/29/smiles/4134597031.gif)
