| Carry On Loving (1970) is on ITV3. I don't think I've ever seen this one before, it all feels unfamiliar to me. I'm surprised it's being shown as it's rather wonderfully politically incorrect for this day and age and is pretty much all about s*x. Bill Maynard was talking about int*rcourse.

| Actual uncomfortable scene featuring Bernard Bresslaw manhandling Joan Sims rather violently. I'm surprised that didn't get edited out. The shocked and disgusted M*llennial in me just briefly came out. |

| The young and dim male character in this (who isn't Jim Dale) is actually quite likeable. |

To be fair, he is seen to be punished for that by being thoroughly beaten up by Kenneth Williams' housekeeper and her karate skills. ISTR a discussion on the OHOTW about how Mr Snooper can afford a housekeeper and a lavishly-appointed house on his Citizens Advice salary. Loving isn't a very good film but it does have its moments, like the Joan Hickson scene ('I fear you've come to the wrong place') and the climactic argument in the flat, with Julian Holloway yelling and hammering on a bedroom door only to be reminded that it's a cupboard. Then he produces a gun and threatens to shoot himself. I like that we are expected to believe that a fashion photographer would not only have access to a gun, but would casually carry it round London loaded, in case he had to commit suicide. _________________ ' "Haven't got houses."
