This might be the best song on the album so far.

This instrumental track is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever heard. Thank God I discovered The Damned recently. I'm forever a prisoner of their music.

It is over.
It was inoffensive enough but lacked a certain magic.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

That was, even considering my relatively low expectations, a proper let down.

Well, that was all rather bananabones. I had high expectations for this what with its legendary epic cover and the main single - which isn't even on this - but if was far, far blander than I was expecting, with even a couple of rubbish/naff tracks. I'll stick with Swing Out Sister Sisters of Mercy.

Re: The Damned - Phantasmagoria (1985)
There were a couple of amusingly arch Vanian-driven goth flourishes, but the 'tonight Matthew, I'm going to be Syd Barrett' stuff was fairly pathetic.
Ultimately, it seemed like a bit of a shoddy, half-baked affair.
