Putting the Good in Good Friday
Are we going down to the beach hut tomorrow? Or will it be too cold, and we'll have to go and visit our grandparents instead?
Re: Putting the Good in Good Friday
Oops, I seem to have failed to anticipate the Easter Hideaway. Maybe this thread could be moved?

As for my Easter plans, I have to spend the weekend fighting weeds and long grass.

I'm going to search my house for things I might be able to chuck out, thus creating more space for me.

I found some such things. I've filled two bags with clothes that I'm too fat to fit into nowadays. I freed up additional space by amalgamating two half-empty boxes of rubbish into one full box of rubbish.

Re: Putting the Good in Good Friday
I love the spacious feeling of Easter. Not like a normal weekend where every second counts. I can just potter around and know I've got another 2½ hours to mow the lawns, or I can leave them till tomorrow or Monday if I want.

Re: Putting the Good in Good Friday
The only problem with Easter though is, at some point you go from 'thinking it's Saturday and you've only got 1 more day off, when it's Good Friday and you've actually got 3 more' to 'thinking it's Easter Saturday and you've got 2 more days off when it's Easter Sunday and you've actually only got 1 more'.
And I believe about now is the crossing junction between those two opposed worldviews.

Re: Putting the Good in Good Friday
I hoped to build one up, but the promotion stopped after I'd got the Spring one.
I'm happy to imagine the other 3:
Summer - like Spring but fewer clouds, darker green trees and different flowers instead of daffodils.
Autumn - lighter blue sky, the trees bending in the wind and leaves blowing off them. Maybe a leaf pile in the garden with a rake stuck in it.
Winter - snow piled either side of the path and on the fields, bare trees, maybe a round red sun setting, snowman in the garden, reverse side of holly wreath partially obscuring bottom left window pane.

I found a picture of Summer!
Autumn and Winter are nowhere to be seen.
