Corporal Punishment.

I have two laptops. The older one (that I use every day) doesn't let me post on here anymore. I can log in but when I type something and hit the 'send' button, it throws me out of the forum and the forum disappears until the next time I clear my browser history.

It works fine on my newer laptop (that I'm on now) but I hate the newer one and usually have it buried in the back of my wardrobe.

I've got an external Thunderbolt enclosure and a 4TB M.2 PCIe NVMe Internal SSD to go into it, all ready for when I update my near 10 year old computer, they don't have big hard drives unless you spend a fortune.

Not since spinny disks of rust went out of fashion.

I'm told that spinny disks last longer than SSDs.

I've had my spinny disk for 12 years and it's still going strong.

I used Google Keep to OCR a page of my handwriting, and it worked well enough that it was slightly easier to correct the mis-scans than it would have been to type it all out in the first place.

It was the same kind of quality as OCR of a not very good scan of a page of a printed book would have been circa 2008.

I started typing up my diaries in 2009 and I speculated then that by 2029 handwriting OCR would be good enough to take over. I estimate that we are approximately on course for that to be true.

It seems to have worked.
