I thought that CT might've enjoyed some of the men's decathlon at the athletics World Championships.

This week, I was reminded of an old favourite, due to being flatteringly contacted by a doppelgänger I used to know. When I knew him, he was the mildly irritating but rather sweet younger brother of a friend, rather than the carbon copy he's become. I therefore hadn't connected the two.





It seems that the young man I knew suffered a near fatal industrial accident, wrecking a promising athletics career, which has taken him several years to get beyond. He's been left with a tendency to fly off the handle, by his own admission, due to lasting pain/brain injury.

I suggested we wait for more facts around monkeypox to be established before moving our reunion forward, which he took in good spirit.
