The Cars
The Cars are in the news, for not overly happy reasons but what are your fave tracks from the band who I'd get mixed up with The Motors if I knew more than one song by The Motors?
My favourite is Just What I Needed. It is lean and builds nicely and it has the 1970s Moog thing sound thingy going on which I so love about Wings records.

How come Drive bears no resemblance at all to anything else I've ever heard by The Cars? It sounds like a totally different group. I can't think of any other band whose biggest hit is so totally different from all their others.

How quickly and reliably can you plunge to the deepest depths of despair? For me it's just enough time to register the opening bars of that dreadful song.

Re: The Cars
I seem to remember Hwispering "Bob" Harris having a major-league b*ner for them.
He hated the New York Dolls, but seemed to think The Cars were the saviours of authentic Rock & Roll.
Bl*nking square.
