It's quite fascinating how this kind of material presages so much his later stuff, but how at the same time it was stylistically more-or-less ditched permanently after 'Man'.

David Bowie used a child's Rosedale Electric Chord Organ, obtained from Woolworths, on both LP and single versions of the song to give a "classic Ivor Cutler/harmonium feel"

Is this the first album where we all reviewed it at different times? ![hmm](/users/3715/63/33/29/smiles/3462713076.gif)

I like the sing-a-long ending of this track.

Re: David Bovvie - David Bovvie (1969)
Well, that that done and dusted.
If it'd been by someone else it'd probably be held in higher regard, but since it's D. Bovvie it falls under a more harsh, unforgiving light.
Still, compared to what came before it, it's a triumph of reinvention so, thus, deserved a fair degree of credit.
In many respects it's no worse than "The Man Who etc" and people bot that like mad (I think it's a bit overrated).
