S.F. Sorrow or B.S. Rubbish?
Re: The Pretty Things - S.F. Sorrow (1968)
A theme Pink Floyd would only begin to address in the mid-'70s.
Middle-aged disillusion.
Middle-aged disillusion.

This is definitely the worst track on the album, so far.

If you look at the inner sleeve you'll see that there're passages of narrative between the lyrics...

The ultimate chin-raising, cheery last song of any album ever.

And it's over!
That was really good.
Of it's time, but as good as what Pink Floyd/Beatles/everyone else were doing. On first impressions anyway.

Re: The Pretty Things - S.F. Sorrow (1968)
It is over.
Apart from the last two tracks, that was one of the best albums we've done and a major step up from recent offerings. It managed to capture the magic of Psychedelia without falling into the trap of tweeness and feyness that much Psychedelia I've heard has succumbed to.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everyone else made of it.

Unlike a lot of reissued 'special' scintillating sapphire edition redux versions the extras are pretty good.
Especially Defecting Grey.
I think it narrowly missed the SFS 'cut'.
