Flying Ant on My Living Room Window, alarm.

When is "flying ant day" supposed to be? I think I've seen two of them on separate occasions over the last few weeks, but no terrifying plague of them.

I have not yet seen it on Twitter, so I assume it's not happened yet.

Flying ants are so Last Month around here.

I think I remember seeing it trending on Twitter a while back. But then we don't seem to have had a flying ant day in my locality in years. Not that I've noticed anyway.

Loads of flying ants are taking off from my parents' patio, where even more loads of ants are milling about on the ground!

Still not seen any this summer.

I saw a couple the other day, but no swarm.

There were however millions of midges everywhere - not just in individual little clusters but up in the sky everywhere you looked and there was this constant high pitched buzzing around. I'd read that these midge-type flies were even showing up on weather satellites as clouds.
