I've got little Ziggy booked in for a pedicure, not a moment too soon as I had to rescue her when she got her toe nail caught in what was left of her nest. Poor little thing, all feathers and bones. Little ones.

I'm hoping they learn different words within colonies - but if they teach the others bad language and I end up with 250 swearing birds, I don't know what we'll do

I hope the volume inside the room isn't that loud, it might scare the poor birdies.

‘Mighty moss chicken’ brought back from brink of extinction is the first two-time winner

Re: Bird Words
I saw what I believe to be a sparrowhawk on the neighbours' TV aerial.
I checked through my monocular and it definitely seemed to be one.

Re: Bird Words
I went to work today as I said, and I had to wait 30 minutes for the results of my rapid covid test to be texted to me, so I had a picnic outside, and I noticed that the crows (who used to pester me a bit when I ate my lunch outside in the Before Time) had got a lot bolder and cleverer.
One approached to just out of arm's length, so I had to constantly watch it while I was eating, and then another one cunningly approached from the other side, presumably calculating that I couldn't watch them both effectively.
I was too clever for them though, I stared straight ahead and watched them both out of the corners of both eyes, and eventually they slouched away despondently.

Re: Bird Words
It sounds like a reenactment of the Velociraptor kitchen scene from Jurassic Park.
