Re: Audio [strike]fool[/strike] phile News thread
I picked up a cheap external audio card thingy, I can now make "backups" of my LPs in Glorious 24/96Khz gory glory. Whatever that means.
had a bit of trouble at first, it was limited to, gasp... CD 'quality'
But after experimenting with it and, and errr... reading the manual, just look at that extended frequency response, and dat Quadrophonic/CD-4 30 kHz carrier...

I'm sure you and the local dogs and bats will enjoy listening to those >20KHz tones.

It looks like:
The record player can tell if it's a 7" and put the needle on the right part of the record and plays it at 45rpm!
I'm going to have to put this back onto evilBay, I need to declutter. I'll be keeping the taaaape bit,
I've managed to squeeze this under the big Telly, so I can keep my house clutter filled!! :hoarders:

It remembers all of the things ever done.
It's like a kind of high-end Danish

Like a big version of the old PS/2 keyboard or mouse connectors, remember those? Before there was USB?

Acceptable in the 70s
A couple of weeks ago I soldered a mono phono cable to a 5 pin DIN socket, 3+5 connected 2 earth ⏚
I didn't like to mention it at the time.

I hope it looks good next to my Beogram 1202.
And N*D tuner.
And my beloved AKAI amp (which really needs to be refurbished, God bless it).
I'm prepared to put such things right in the event.
