I thought I was going to be going to the very heart of the SheffieldcityMegaTropolice next week,
But my plans changed.

Today my brother told me a horrifying tale of his visit to Sheffield. It was Sunday lunchtime and he got on some kind of ring road bus in the wrong direction, and there were these two drunk girls on board abusing everyone, and he had to go almost the whole way round the city putting up with this. Eventually they attacked someone and the driver stopped the bus and called the police who arrived and dragged the drunk girls away.
I had a very similar experience once when I got on the wrong bus at Luton Airport and ended up on a circular route of the town itself. Some boys were throwing chips around. Several stuck together landed beside me so I picked the item up and threw it back. It hit him directly on the face which I was quite pleased with, and it raised a cheer from other passengers.

That should've'd been posted in the Luton Airport thread.

Yorkshire's tallest building approved.
Work to start without delay.
I walk past the site almost every day.
They weren't working on it today.
That's already a day's delay.

A transmitter isn't a building is it, it's a structure.

Sheffield had a 12% rise in Londoners moving to buy or rent in 2018

"There is a healthier balance in Sheffield," she said. "People prioritise things outside of work. Once it hits 5.30pm or 6pm, it’s time to get on with the rest of your life."

"People in Sheffield don’t appear to be as stressed or in such a rush," he said. "When I pass people on the street they’re missing that manic, anxious wide-eyed stare I got so used to. In my new neighbourhood, people often say ‘good morning’ right out of the blue. Complete strangers have approached me in the park and started a conversation, which was strange at first.
"If Sheffield were an online media platform, I’d share, like and retweet it. I’d stick a huge heart icon where everyone could see."

People in London do that too sometimes - I find it best to walk very quickly and only start running if they follow at the same pace.

But when all the Londoners have moved to Sheffield, won't that just make Sheffield London and won't the problem be back all over again?

Then everyone'll have to flee Sheffield for London.

Ooh, sh*g incoming. It's always nice to know you've still got it.
I find all this much hyped talking to random people who happen to be on the next bus seat a bit overdone. Is that nicely friendly, or is it just rudely invasive?
Other than public transport, I really find Londoners to be no more or less talkative than anywhere else. Maybe we should all discuss this in a standoffish way?

I think it would be better if we all pretended it wasn't happening until the threshold was crossed, at which point we would briefly glance at one another while rolling our eyes.

Last summer, I not only spoke to a strange man in the park, but I helped him up and brushed gravel from his thigh because he'd fallen off his bike.
After a quick look round (to see if anyone else was laughing) it was clear that I was the closest person to him, so common decency demanded.
