It is over.
It was an album that started strongly but then settled into being very workmanlike with no surprises, before finishing strongly.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

Well, that was better than I remember.
Danny O'Keefe is one of popular music's great unsung heroes IMO.
His earlier albums are more sparse and spare and homespun than this - which sounds like a lot of money was thrown at it production-wise and lots of his more illustrious pals put in a shift (all to little avail record sales-wise
).
Ultimately, despite any shortcomings D O'K has they're made up for by the fact that he occasionally, amid the not unpleasant yet more run-of-the-mill material, really delivers a genuinely gr8 song.
See: "Rainbow Girl", "Hard Times", "Magdalena" and many many many more hits!!

Actually, this one doesn't have "Magdalena" on it at all.
