I wish I was asleep. I think I am tired enough which is nice, unusual even, but I'm in an extreme amount of discomfort. Both knees, one leg, one hip, one arm, both hands. It seems incredible to me that there can be so much pain without any physical evidence of it.

I was thinking earlier that hope and ambition are the same thing, and that all hope/ambition dies. Either we kill it ourselves, or other people do. Maybe both - one party starts and the other steps in to finish it off. Something I read yesterday about the murder-suicide of ideas.

I woke up in bed fully clothed at 3.30am without remembering how I got there. I resumed sleeping, more appropriately dressed, till the alarm woke me at 6am to do my COVID test.

Investigating the computer room I found a ¾ full glass of vodka + angostura, and a browser history indicating that I stopped at 8.30pm. And the NHOTW latest posts were half read. Also, my glasses were on the keyboard, so I must have been overcome by sleepiness and staggered into the bedroom.

Gosh, I'm glad I've changed my ways since that last post.

I slept 9½ hours last night, I didn't wake up till 7.55! That's put me behind with my list of Sunday tasks.

I slept really badly last night. I went to bed at 8.30, and I didn't drop off till nearly 1am. And I had to get up at 5, and all the time I was asleep I had terrifying dreams about swimming in stormy seas off rocky shores, and being involved in demon summonings and calling the deputy high priest a rude name.

It does sound like the dream's narrative timeline was, in regards a causal chain, back-to-front though. hmm

No, I was the demon or I merged with it or something - I had these tentacles which I could carve the rocks with, and the high priestess was directing me to carve symbols which would summon more demons, and I wouldn't, and the deputy high priest had a go at me, so I called him the name.

He looked really outraged, I have to say that someone so easily shocked probably shouldn't work in the field of demon summoning.

I feel really sleepy today, the way one does when it's snowing outside. But it isn't snowing.

I overslept till 6am today, because my bio-clock has been disordered by staying up late to listen to albums on the NHOTW.

I went to bed at 8 and woke up at 12.10. Then I lay awake beyond 1 o'clock, and I had just resigned myself to being awake till the morning, when suddenly my alarm woke me up at 4.

I went to bed at 6.30pm and got up at 2.30am. I quite enjoyed it. If this goes on I'll be going to bed at 4 and getting up at midnight by the end of March.

After Sunday night's vaccine reactions, I went to bed last night at 6.50pm. 'I'll just listen to the 7pm news on the World Service,' I thought, before instantly waking up again at 4am.

I was awake for hours after 2am, and then I fell asleep during a programme on the World Service about a serial killer, and had horrible nightmares till 6am.

I've been up now for three hours. I think I've had quite enough of today already. Weighing up some tranqs and a neat whisky.
