My banging hangover this morning turned into a really nasty migraine at 11. I lay in bed for 6 hours listening to The Secret Life of Kenneth Williams - a bad choice because he keeps squawking and screeching.

About 1.30 though I fell asleep and woke up at 4 feeling much better.

Now I'm in the post-migraine mood where I feel all right, but can't think about anything too complicated.

Oh that is very tough. Since Propanalol, mine have been much less frequent, but since lockdown I've had two or three of my old style, suffering in hell migraines. During the last one I considered physically knocking myself out with something heavy, to get some relief/experience a more bearable type of agony.

You might want to explore Propanalol if you aren't already taken it.

I can't keep anything down during the intense phase, that's the problem with painkillers.

I used to get migraines a lot, but I realised that they were mostly being caused by a particular food colouring. I hadn't had one for 18 months till yesterday.

These are anti panic pills. I take them daily. It wasn't prescribed for migraine, it's just that they've had that happy side effect. Others who take them also say they've found that.

After further reflection I recall that I was prescribed propranolol in autumn 1992 as a stress reducer, but - being a beta blocker - it made my asthma flare up something awful, and I had to go back and get another presc rfor sometiing else.

Oh well. I'm gearing up for my own regular prescription again - how times flies when you're having fun. Off to the practice to place my request in the box, and a daily phonecall to the pharmacy until it arrives whenever that may be.

I was confined to bed again 12-6 yesterday with another migraine. I listened to 3 whole 90-minute James Bond novel dramatisations.

One good side-effect though, my boss has told me not to work any more weekends as it's clearly stressing me out too much.

I'm having to go through the NHS appeals process due to their decision that my Botox shouldn't be funded, despite my dentist actively recommending it for jaw tension and grinding, and my doctor supporting it as a highly effective measure for my probably related migraines.

Have you taken any tablets?

I'm guessing you're loth to do so.

Still, I'm near-certain you've still not drunk enough water.

You should have an early night.

No more running commentaries for you tonight, young lady. no no

I've just been on the phone to my mother. We have both had headaches at a low level throb for much of the day. She spoke to my brother who reported likewise. My son went to bed in the very early evening after asking for paracetamol and an Indian head massage while he drifted off to sleep in a blackout mask - which he almost never does. I'm barely allowed into his room. Is there lots of thunder and muggy conditions on the way?

I had a nasty migraine today. And the thr*wing up phase was an hour longer than usual.

As usual I fell asleep after that and woke up at 1pm in the sunny bedroom feeling a bit better.

Now I'm just in the 'underwater' phase.

Another nasty migraine today. It's going away now, but I'm all confused.
