Although C is always pronounced K in Greek and Latin words, some names are so familiar that they have an Anglicised version where the C is pronounced S. Like Circe and Cicero.

It's a bit like the way Paris is pronounced Pariss in English, not Paree. Or London is pronounced Lhindyne in Welsh.
