Re: Breaking learning thread
Modern landline phones require actual batteries.
A long time ago, I left the phone on the cooker, where it accidentally melted on the hob - I'd turned on the wrong one. I thought what a relief that only the back plastic had melted and it still worked fine.
Until now. A battery sign flashed up, which I thought was a reminder to charge it. I did, but still a battery warning was there. I then began to suspect there was a different type of battery involved.
I've had a terrible struggle trying to force the partially melted back open with knives and screwdrivers, but it's finally off. Two dead AAA batteries were unexpectedly revealed in their secret compartment.

I know, I had one on my head.
It made my scalp go like the crew of the Elizabeth Dane.

I knew that.
New York City is level with Lisbon, which is a strange thought when you're there in winter.

Re: Breaking learning thread
Until the 1990's, Australian ambulances were just speeding vans that carried stretchers to hospital. Kerry Packer, Australia's second biggest news mogul, had a heart attack. The ambulance that picked him up just happened to have a surplus defibrillator slung in the back, so it came in very useful. This caused a change in practice, and brought about a drive to whack in some decent equipment as standard. To say thank you, Mr Packer paid for Australian ambulances to be upgraded to being fully capable of interventionist resuscitation.
This is why the common Australian slang for an ambulance is 'Packer whacker'.

Bjärbz is a thing.
Bjärbz are a group of individuals across social media, mostly Twitter, who greatly support both Nicki Minaj and Björk. In their free-time, they may listen to both artists at once,
