Nicky Hopkins or Katy Hopkins?
Re: Nicky Hopkins - The Tin Man Was a Dreamer (1973)
I refer you to my previous post...

Track 2 - Waiting for the Band.
Edward.
Or was that a joke?
He probably was literally waiting for the band to turn up.
I get the impression that this wasn't unusual for him.

He was from Perivale.
Isn't that where Doctor Who's Ace was from?

You could imagine someone like Joe Cocker doing something with this.
Making it worse. but shouty.

I hope white kids didn't firebomb his house.

Personally I like his weak, fragile vocals.
They're, well, just him.
Take it or leave it.

Eggs-ackley!
Or that bloke who always spoilt Jeff Beck's albums.

I stand by this.
WhatDoesThisButtonDo? wrote:This is pleasant, but I won't lie I'd rather pull down a dusty copy of Who's Next or whatever Rolling Stone album he's on.

I'm giving it a, perhaps, generous ★★★★.
It's really because I think it's a sweetly melancholic glimpse of a unique and under-appreciated behind-the-scenes maestro, so, despite it's shortcomings, I feel it's worthy of more than average acclaim.

Jimmy McCulloch was in the Grease Band with Joe Cocker.
Everything is connected in the world of early British 70s Boogie-Rock

Their album was on Harvest, and it had *that* inner sleeve!

Henry McCullough was.
Jimmy McCulloch doesn't seem to have been.

I can't help feeling that if we'd listened to the album in proper order then the votes would've been different.
All three of us would've given it 4, 3 and 2 stars all the same, but it would've been different ones of us.
