This is a pretty good Beach Boys pastiche.

We've only been listening to this for 20 minutes and it seems like an hour.

Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers had a UK #5 hit[1] with an instrumental[2] version of this song in 1977 titled "Egyptian Reggae".[5] The track was included on the album Rock 'n' Roll with the Modern Lovers. Although the writing credit was originally given to Richman, later reissues of the track credited Earl Zero.[6]
Naughty boy!

I always assumed this was the music Wilson, Kepple and Betty used in their act.
It was a great disappointment to discover it wasn't.

This is like a really really lazy, half-arsed, crap version of something Ry Cooder would do.
Musical history disrespected and exploited rather than championed.
