Re: Cover versions
They have red wheelie bins. I wonder what red wheelie bins are for?

Re: Cover versions
What's more, all of the most cringeworthy lyrics from the original are rewritten or casually, effortlessly reworked.
e.g. julep and two lips, becomes beer and sincere.

Re: Cover versions
I only found out 3 days ago that while not exactly a cover, this song is almost completely lifted from another.
Did you all know this and not tell me or were you in the dark too?

That face meldy thing was so futuristic back in 1991.

Re: Cover versions
I've got two copies of that, the final, Simple Minds album.
A UK and a Yugoslavian one, which has the meaningless lyrics on it.
It's a shame they stopped making albums in 1982, it would have been interesting how they would have progressed after that more poppy and good New Gold Dream, but not as good as Sons and Fascination.
Just like UB40.

Re: Cover versions
I only found out that Don't You Forget about Me was a cover, maybe I don't realise that as they based the next 5 years of their sound on it?
Well, I say only found out it was about 3 years ago.
I've never heard the original...

Re: Cover versions
Oh, it was written for them, not a cover, so there is no original to listen to.
