This is virtually outside my flat.

I live on the south side of Boundary Road (Westminster) and this occurred on the other side of the road (Camden).

I've just seen a hearse go past drawn by two black-plumed horses, and containing a coffin wrapped in a Welsh flag.

It's absolute havoc out the front of my flat this morning.

The council are redoing all the communal parking spaces - there're men blasting the old painted lines with giant blowtorches, men painting new ones, a man knocking the lowerable, lockable lengths of scaffolding thingies off with a sledgehammer, there's a flatbed truck with a mechanical winch lifting cars out of spaces, the car's alarms are all going off, there's a man up a stepladder drilling stuff for no discernible reason and all my neighbours are out shouting and gesticulating because they haven't been told...

Now, to top it all off, the man with the leaf-blower's turned up making a racket.

The Zone of the Nightjars Borough Council don't mess about do they? When they were repairing the road here they actually tarmacked round a parked car rather than ask for it to be moved.

Along with my own, his have a well deserved reputation for criminal levels of sheer bast*rdry.

Shuffling back from teh pubbermarket earlier on there was YET AGAIN dozens and dozens of police cars (some 'plain clothes'), and ambliances (and even I think an fire engine) at the corner of my street outside Ainsworth House where that multiple stabbing-murder happened a while back (see above).

I'm wondering whether there was some kind of raid connected to that event going on.

Well go out and rubberneck. Might be something very exciting. 

I was woken up one night by rotor blades and a floodlight shining strongly throughout the flat. Imagine my surprise when I looked out to see a police helicopter just a few feet above the buildings. 

I decided to sit up on the edge of the kitchen sink which offered the maximum viewing potential. As I was leaning over I fell ar*e first into the sink. The sound of wine glasses and plates breaking made them turn the floodlighting directly at my kitchen window, practically blinding me as I tried to get myself out of the sink.

The binmen are coming...
