Ahh, c'mon, man.
That's like saying you don't like 80% of all songs ever.
Er...
Probably about right, eh?

You don't seem to get them so much these days. Songs just seem to stop, Spotfy algorithms and such.

I guess that when I was 4 I didn't really get this far.

Oh, it's over. That last one was alright.
In fact the whole thing was alright. Lightweight, but I think it worked for the album.
Can't say I loved it though. ★★★, but a high, almost but not quite a ★★★★ sort of ★★★.
Wonder what the average Dolly Parton LP of this era sounded like?

It is over.
That was a very boring album filled with forgettable songs and bland, over-familiar arrangements. She has a nice voice but it has such an air of self-satisfaction that it's impossible to connect with emotionally.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

I don't believe she was at the post-country Bluegrass re-reinvention stage at that point.
She just let the mainstream mega-success plateau for years and years and then, when she might've started to appear unfashionable in the '90s, she just reverted back to doing bluegrass and roots folk to remind everyone that she had cast-iron credentials, was an musician and more-or-less introduced it to the world as a folk music of the past, but for a new generation...
By the '90s she'd done that twice over.
Clever clever clever clever clever clever clever clever clever clever clever clever clever clever clever clever clever clever clever...
Lady, that Parton.
