Hollywood Dream or Chorleywood Nightmare?
Re: Thunderclap Newman - Hollywood Dream (1969)
To give Andy Newman some credit, despite his somewhat tiresome plinky-plonky piano, he does play all the brass and woodwinds and exotic percussion.

Sounds like that Rod Stewart song that goes, "I knew her name was Rita coz her kiss was getting sweeter."

We just heard exactly what's wrong and right about this band/album.
John Keen's strained, grating vocals, Andy Newman's plinky plonky piano and then Wee Jimmy's superb guitar and 'Bijou Drains' bass.

I'm amazed at how good Townshend is at doing the Entwistle bass style.

Piano's back.
Why does he only have one piano solo?

I guess the fact that they played in the same band for decades shouldn't mean it's a surprise, but still...

The Piano bits don't seem to mesh with the guitar stuff.
